Meet Ian
Ian Corless is the brains behind ADVENTURE MEDIA LAB.
A photographer with over 40 years behind the lens, known for capturing endurance sport in its rawest and most human form. His work goes beyond action shots. He tells stories of effort, environment, and emotion, often in some of the toughest landscapes on earth.
With a background as an elite cyclist, Ian transitioned into triathlon before finding his true calling as a runner, and more specifically, a trail runner. That first-hand experience shapes how he sees the sport. He understands the grind, the solitude, and the moments that matter.
Since 2009, Ian has focused on trail, mountain, ultra, and skyrunning. He is widely respected in these spaces for both his knowledge and his ability to document them with honesty and depth.
He is also the creator of the Talk Ultra podcast and the author of Running Beyond, where he shares insights, conversations, and stories from the world of endurance sport.
Ian’s work has taken him across the globe, documenting unique people and places through both images and words, always with a focus on authenticity and connection.
Ian is based in Norway and the UK, is available worldwide and AML creative lead.
Meet Steve
Steve Ashworth is a photographer and film maker based in the English Lake District. His work focuses on storytelling in endurance sport and remote environments.
Steve has spent the last 14 years working with brands, athletes, and events that share his passion for being outdoors.
A lifetime spent in the mountains as both a mountaineer and ultra-endurance runner underpins his approach. Steve brings a grounded understanding of the environments he works in and the people within them. This perspective informs a style that balances visual ambition with emotional accuracy.
Drawn to the most demanding parts of a journey, he is known for going further to capture the moments that define a story whether that’s the visual high points of an adventure in the mountains or the quieter, more difficult stretches where fatigue and doubt set in. Experience tells him that when he should be putting the camera away and running for shelter is probably when the magic is about to happen.
Comfortable operating in remote and unpredictable settings, he brings a calm, practical mindset to production, whether working independently or leading a team. His focus is on trust, timing, and creating conditions to capture something honest.
Outside of his professional work, Steve serves as a mountain rescue volunteer, maintaining a close connection to the environments and communities that shape his practice.
Steve is UK based and available worldwide.
